He is skilled in consulting services delivery, client relationship management, and development / maintenance of effective internal consulting processes and staffing assignments. He works effectively as an integral member of a Project Management Office, as a consulting project manager, and as an individual contributor and executive coach. He has performed consulting assignments as part of large "Big X" consulting teams and more recently as an independent consultant. He is experienced and comfortable with international or multi-national assignments. English is his native language and he speaks conversational French. He earned his Ph.D. in educational psychology (adult learning) and his M.B.A. in organizational development at University of California, Los Angeles. In his spare time, Doug enjoys fine art photography, golf, cycling, and international travel. “Doug was instrumental in the successful implementation of our electronic medical records system. We initially asked him to be the change management expert; however, Doug was flexible in serving multiple roles. He adapted to changing priorities and quickly proved that he was a valuable member of the team.” ~ Tanya Hoang, PMO Director, St. Joseph Health ALL Testimonials
Pete Guilioni - Partner, Deloitte Consulting “Doug was the perfect counter-balance to my management style. He was more of the style “where angels fear to tread”. We were under enormous pressure and I needed someone exactly like Doug – intelligent and focused. He has a way of tucking things into his subconscious, allowing them to churn and come up with iterations. We could make then make the necessary adjustments to avoid calamity or enhance the service offering. He is a terrific thought partner.” Tanya Hoang - Program Management Office Director, St. Joseph Health “During the enterprise-wide implementation of a large software system, we supported our hospitals 24/7 for two weeks with onsite Command Centers. We had a limited number of people available to staff these centers and Doug stepped in even though this was not part of his original assignment. He volunteered to do the night shift 7pm to 7am at one of our more remote hospitals. The primary audience for our Command Centers was physicians, who are especially concerned when processes don’t work well. Doug’s demeanor and his way of handling concerns and calming people down were outstanding. He is eager to help and has a genuine “Can Do” attitude. Another thing that Doug does well is to establish rapport with people. After about ten minutes of interviewing him, I “knew” that he was the guy I needed for the job. He’s not shy about taking on work that is outside his area of expertise. No job is below Doug, and he is truly a team player. He jumps in and does whatever it takes whether it’s a strategic role or an administrative role. I was able to rely on him throughout our multiple go-lives across the enterprise.” Deb Daufeldt - Vice President, Digital Marketing and Social Media, AMICO “Doug is a top-notch consultant. I would have him join me on any project. I have no hesitation to bring him in on anything. He’s the consummate professional. He’s one of those rare consultants who can see the big picture and be strategic but he’s more than happy to go into the weeds to develop something spot on. You’d expect someone so seasoned not to do work that an intern could do but that’s not the case with Doug. He checks his ego at the door, rolls up his sleeves and gets stuff done! Everything I’ve ever asked him to help with he’s done willingly and well.” Dave McLaren - General Manager, Americas West Region, Right Management “Where Doug stands out in my mind is he is an incredibly listener – he’s able to get an understanding of a situation better than most consultants. Consequently he does a terrific job at scoping what needs to be done and managing expectations. He focuses in on what’s needed. He thinks of the client first (unlike some consultants I’ve worked with). He’s articulate and patient in listening. He’s also very good at time management and scoping what needs to be done. He has really strong skills around how the work should get done. He engages the client in a very effective way. His listening skills and ability to focus make him really good at managing the work.” |
