With over 20 years of experience in Human Resources, Marie has developed deep expertise in the areas of business partnering, executive coaching, employee relations, conflict resolution, organization management and design.
Marie excels at establishing sensible HR solutions for high growth companies. She is also an expert at conducting thorough employee investigations successfully addressing discrimination and/or harassment complaints. Additionally, the ability to contribute HR services to rapidly growing companies allows Marie to support human resources deliverables in the merger and acquisition process from due diligence to integration.
Marie has provided HR leadership expertise to multiple corporations across the country. She can effortlessly manage the re-engineering of Human Resources department goals and practices ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives. She is instrumental in leading HR to be a strategic business partner. As a result of these business partnerships, Marie is able to assist an enterprise through many organizational and compensation changes. She is astute in identifying areas in need of improvement with the vision to develop and implement successful action plans.
Over the years she has made significant contributions to the HR function at a number of high-tech leaders including Intuit, Sun Microsystems and Amdahl Corporation as well as huge financial institutions including First Interstate Bank and Wells Fargo Bank. Working with line management to facilitate the restructuring and growth of these companies Marie has directed management development, staffing, compensation and employee relations.
Marie founded ZM Ventures, Inc. in 1993. Her consulting practice quickly became known as a leading provider of consultative HR services to emerging-growth companies in Silicon Valley. As her client list grew, so did Marie’s reputation as a respected, independent human resources consultant.
Outside of work Marie is passionate about giving back to her community. She has been an active member of United Way’s Women’s Leadership Council (formerly Women's Philanthropic Network); its mission to engage the power, wisdom, and generosity of women creating a stronger community today and for future generations. When she isn’t working Marie enjoys all manner of outdoor activities and splits her time between Northern California and Park City, Utah.
