Bryan Gillette is the founder and Principal Consultant of Summiting Group, a leadership and organizational development consulting firm that helps individuals and teams reach their peak potential. He knows what it is like to reach his peak both in business and life.
For more than 25 years he has led human resources, leadership development, and communications for companies of all sizes, leading teams of 2 to 270 people and overseeing a variety of multimillion-dollar projects. Before starting Summiting Group, he was on the Executive Committee as the Vice President of Human Resources & Payroll for a mid-size, global-technology company. Bryan has built Human Resources and Learning & Development departments in fast-paced, high-technology organizations. Over the years, he has facilitated leadership courses in many countries, consulted with executives, and offered solutions that drive the desired performance for the company to meet its business objectives. With his extensive experience in leadership development and organizational effectiveness, he has guided teams through challenges related to communication, alignment, change management, and performance improvement. Bryan routinely facilitates retreats to align executive around their strategy. Outside of the office Bryan has demonstrated success as an ultra-distance endurance athlete. He has cycled across the U.S., completed a 300-mile ride in one day, and finished many 50- and 100-mile ultradistance runs. At age 47, he ran 205 miles around Lake Tahoe – the equivalent of 8 back-to-back marathons – in 76 hours with just 90 minutes of sleep. From his experience as an executive, his accomplishments as an ultra-distance athlete, and his interviews of 100 accomplished leaders, Bryan recently authored the book, “EPIC Performance: Lessons from 100 Executives and Endurance Athletes on Reaching Your Peak” targeted for publication in the summer of 2022. To give back to the community Bryan started and ran the Bridge of Opportunity, a 501(c)3 foundation to provide foster kids scholarships to attend college. He was the co-chair and founding board member for iGATE, an incubator to assist start-up green-related companies. He is a mentor to social entrepreneurs through Santa Clara University’s Miller Center. And, he was the co-race director for the Pleasanton Run for Education, a 3,000-person running race, which raised over $250,000 for the local schools. Having traveled around the world for one year with his wife and two boys, he now lives with his family in the San Francisco Bay area.
